The Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust is launched today on what would have been the great man’s 61st birthday.
Cyrille’s family have been hard at work since his passing in January 2018 to establish a charity in his name which will continue to work on projects which were so close to his heart.
Today marks the Trust’s launch point and Albion fans have been invited to engage and support the plans for its future progress. They can visit the website www.cyrilleregis.com for more details.
Dave Regis, brother of Cyrille, said: “We are pleased to announce that members of the Regis family have set up a charity to continue Cyrille’s legacy and impact in football and the community.
“The Cyrille Regis Legacy Trust will be launched with an exciting project in partnership with the foundations of six leading West Midlands clubs; West Bromwich Albion, Coventry, Aston Villa, Wolves, Birmingham and Walsall, and will be a wonderful tribute to Cyrille and, more importantly, influence the lives of local young people.
“We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks. Watch this space.”
Albion will continue to work closely with the Regis family to support the Trust which they intend will establish "a fitting and permanent tribute" to him.
