Albion are offering free coach travel for the Sky Bet Championship clash at Leeds United - courtesy of Darren Moore’s first-team squad.
The players have clubbed together to pick up the bill for the Baggies faithful travelling on the Club’s official coaches which will be heading for the big Elland Road game on Friday.
Albion fans face a £39 match ticket charge on top of their travel costs for a match brought forward to a 7.45pm Friday night kick-off for live TV screening.
Albion captain Chris Brunt explained that the time was right for the players to show their appreciation for the travelling fans.
“We wanted to show our appreciation for the fans and especially those who have backed us on the road this season,” he said.
“When the details for this game were announced, it seemed the right one to try to offer a helping hand.
“We appreciate we are in the middle of a really busy schedule that is making great demands on the pockets and the time of our supporters. It is always great to see them when we run out at away games and every voice is important to us.
“We wanted to show our appreciation to them. Everything suggests it’s going to be a big game at Elland Road and if this gesture helps a few more of our fans get there who otherwise would not have been able to, then that’s great.
It’s a big and busy month for the Baggies in their promotion challenge and our fans face plenty of hours on the road to back them. Allocations for Stoke and Villa have already sold out and a rearranged midweek night trip to QPR is already half-sold.
Tickets at Elland Road are priced £39 adults, £26 seniors 60+ and 16-22 years, £18 for under-16s and £9 for under-11s. Click here to purchase tickets online.
