The Albion Foundation’s Under 19 team celebrated a successful campaign at their end of season awards evening at The Hawthorns.
The players are part of the Football and Education Coaching programme in partnership with Sandwell College, aiming to give them the experience of being a professional footballer as well as gaining a football qualification.
Last month, the team were successful in the EFL Community and Education final, beating Birmingham City Community Trust’s Under 19s 3-0.
Coach for the team, Chris Foreman, said the evening capped off a successful season on the pitch and off the pitch.
“From a football perspective we have had a number of student athletes trial at professional clubs, join semi-professional teams and earn a host of coaching qualifications,” said Chris.
“Numerous second year students have been offered places at universities across the country and high numbers of first year students have achieved outstanding grades in their academic qualifications.
“The evening was a brilliant opportunity to say farewell and good luck to our second years, as well as welcoming our first year students and their families into the West Bromwich Albion family,” he said.
