Albion Powerchair named team of the season

West Bromwich Albion’s Powerchair Football first-team added to their MDUK National League title by winning the Sirus Automotive Premiership Team of the Year at the WFA’s End of Season Awards on Saturday.

There were also individual awards for Albion’s Marcus Harrison who scooped the G5 Sports Services Premiership Player of the Season, and Jack McNaughton who took home the Bache Pallets Championship Young Player of the Season.

The awards for Marcus and Jack are made even more special as they were voted for by fellow players in the Premiership and Championship respectively.

For Marcus, the award adds to a memorable year, having been crowned European champions with England last month, a tournament in which he also came away as the top goal-scorer, and winning back-to-back titles with the Albion team.

For the Foundation’s Senior Disability Development Officer, Paul Hunt, the awards show just how much work the staff and players put in.

“This is fantastic for the Club and with players picking up individual awards this demonstrates how hard they work, and the dedication they have for the sport,” said Paul.

“Marcus has had an incredible time with us ever since he joined, and the awards show his commitment towards the Club.

“For Jack it’s great to see the development in him from the six years that he has been with us and hopefully these awards can only inspire the younger players within the Club,” he said.

Congratulations to everyone involved with West Bromwich Albion Powerchair Football Club on another fantastic season.
