Dara O’Shea played 90 minutes for Republic of Ireland Under-21s as they made a strong start to the Maurice Revello Toulon Tournament on Monday afternoon.
Stephen Kenny’s team, playing in the competition for the first time in 17 years, overcame China 4-1 in their opening Group C game thanks to goals from former Baggie Zachary Elbouzedi and Brighton & Hove Albion forward Aaron Connolly, as well as Adam Idah's brace of penalties.

Next up for Dara and Ireland is a game against Mexico on Thursday (ko 6.30pm) at Stade Parsemain. The North American side beat Bahrain 2-0 in their first match of the tournament.
