Albion Under-18s drew 1-1 with Newcastle United Under-18s at Palm Training Ground despite a dominant performance.
The Baggies had taken the lead with just over 20 minutes to play through Zak Delaney, but Elliott Anderson levelled for the Magpies with five minutes to play.
Mike Scott's side were unfortunate not to secure a victory in the Under-18 Premier League, having hit the woodwork four times.
Finley Thorndike crashed an low effort off the post for the Baggies early on, before seeing his curling strike from the edge of the box tipped onto the upright by Will Brown in the Newcastle net. Alex Gilbert followed up, but his effort was also denied by the crossbar.
Thorndike and Eoin Ashton both went close for Albion, with Louie Barry nearly bagging twice for Scott's side too.
Albion would take the lead after Gilbert fizzed a low cross to the backpost, which Delaney met with a powerful side-footed strike.
Both teams had chances to bag the next goal - substitute Jacob Wakeling went closest for Albion, hitting the post.
But the Magpies struck a late goal after a Joe White pass found Anderson inside the box, who tucked his effort into the corner.
