Alex Gilbert scored late to snatch a 2-2 draw for Albion Under-18s at Manchester United on Saturday.
In between good chances for Zak Brown and Stanley Asomungha it was the Red Devils’ Dion McGhee who opened the scoring just before half-time.
After the break the young Baggies netted a well deserved equaliser on the hour mark as Gilbert notched his first of the game from close-range.
Brown’s unfortunate own-goal saw United go back ahead in the 73rd minute.
But another Gilbert strike, this time with just two minutes remaining, ensured Albion left the north west with a share of the spoils.
Albion: Griffiths, White (Wakeling 68), Hill, Taylor, Delaney; Asomugha (Thorndike 76), King, Brown (Smith 74), Gilbert; Ashton, Barry.
