Albion Women have added to their strike force by signing Jade Benford from Leicester United.
The 19-year-old forward joins Louis Sowe’s side having played six times so far this season, netting one goal for the Division One Midlands side.
Benford made her debut on Sunday, coming off the bench in the victory against Leafield Athletic, and will add another string to Sowe’s attacking bow.
“Jade can play as a centre forward, out wide, or as a number 10 so she’s versatile and gives us options,” said Sowe.
“We’re delighted to add Jade to the group, she fits the mould of what we’re trying to create with her playing ability, but personality as well,” Sowe added.
Looking to build on her second half appearance on Sunday, Benford is looking forward to her time in the blue and white stripes.
“I’m excited to join Albion as they are doing well after a successful season last year,” Benford said.
“Having played against them before, I know they are a good side so hopefully they can help me reach my full potential and I can contribute to the team’s goals this season.
Benford fills the attacking hole that is left behind by the outgoing Gabi Reid, who netted seven times in 20 appearances in the double-winning season last year.
The Club would like to thank Gabi for her contributions and wish her all the best for the future.
