Sam Johnstone praised his team-mate’s work ethic following Saturday’s successful Sky Bet Championship trip to Middlesbrough.
The Baggies claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Riverside Stadium in wet and blustery conditions – a result which maintained their spot at the top of the table.
The Baggies No.1 admitted his side weren’t at their best on Teesside, but Sam was also quick to highlight the players’ steely determination to grind out three points.
He said: “It feels great. We’ve come away with three points.
“We weren’t at our best but we’ve come away with a win and that’s what makes it feel better.
“It’s a sign of a good team. We made a couple of changes and hung in there at times but we eventually got the goal.
“We’ve come away with three points and that’s all that matters.
“I’ve managed to make a couple of saves, it’s what I’m there to do. It feels good, especially because we have the win.
“It’s a whole team effort today, though. They created a few chances but we dug in and got the job done.
“It’s also nice to keep a clean sheet. Everyone is happy going home.”
