Evie Gallop fired Albion Women into the semi-finals of the Birmingham County Cup with an incredible eight-minute hat-trick to beat Bedworth United 3-0.
The winger came on as a substitute in the first-half but she didn’t break the deadlock until the 73rd minute, with her other goals coming in quick succession on the 75th and 81st minutes.
The Baggies started the game the better, with Jade Arber almost opening the scoring after four minutes but her shot struck the post after she rounded goalkeeper Chloe Quinn.
Ria Elsmore had a shot tipped over the bar before Vanessa Kinnerley was called into action in the Albion goal to deny Kirsty Farnsworth, who also fired wide shortly before half-time.
Louis Sowe’s side came out of the blocks quickly in the second period as Natalie Murray came close on two occasions.
It wasn’t until the 73rd minute that the scoring was opened though, Gallop found herself in space on the edge of the Bedworth area before firing across goal leaving Quinn helpless for the hosts.
Two minutes later the winger doubled the lead for Albion when she ran straight through the hosts’ defence and dispatched the ball into the same corner as her first.
On 81 minutes Gallop secured her hat-trick and the tie for the Baggies, she was quickest to pounce as the ball bounced around in the Bedworth area.
It was almost four for Albion and Gallop late on, but she saw her shot hit the crossbar to leave the score at 3-0.
