The Albion Foundation are calling on West Midlands businesses to donate surplus food that can be redistributed where it is most needed in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Club’s official charity will arrange safe collection of stock from hotels, restaurants, bars, and other willing parties, before delivering to food banks and community centres across the region.
Social-distancing measures will be observed at all times and the Foundation will continue to follow current government guidance throughout.
Albion successfully donated produce from The Hawthorns on Friday to help deliver 150 parcels to NHS frontline staff and food banks.
Macdonald Burlington Hotel donated food on Tuesday
This move was replicated by Birmingham’s Macdonald Burlington Hotel on Tuesday, with stock collected and redistributed to a West Bromwich food bank by The Albion Foundation.
It is now hoped food and necessities from other organisations can be redistributed in a similar manner.
If you are a business owner or manager who has food that you would like to donate please email rob.lake@albionfoundation.co.uk at your earliest convenience.
