Two of Albion’s PDP group represented their nations during the September international break.
Dauda Iddrisa featured in all three of Italy Under-17s’ City of Trieste tournament games. The versatile midfielder played the full 90 of their opening 2-0 win over Portugal, came off the bench to play the second 45 of a 2-2 draw with Switzerland, before ending with another start as the Blues lost 2-0 against Spain.
This meant Iddrisa and his native compatriots finished second in the competition. The 16-year-old previously donned the Italian colours at U15 level in 2023, and made his senior Baggies debut this term as a second-half substitute against Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup.
Iddrisa’s fellow academy colleague, Rhys Morrish, was also regularly involved in the recent international break as Albion’s young centre-back played in Wales 18s’ three Jezek Cup fixtures.
Hereford-born Morrish started the 0-0 stalemate with host nation Czechia, made a late substitute appearance in the 3-2 win against Slovakia, and concluded the tournament by gaining 80 minutes in a narrow 2-1 defeat to Turkiye.
Cymru’s youngsters finished third in the competition standings, with Germany winning the cup and the U.S. youth team coming second.
Rhys has now featured in his nation's U17 and 18s setups, and has also been a regular in Leigh Downing’s Baggies scholarship group this season - starting each of their first three games.
Lastly, 21s pair Ben Cisse and Alex Williams were unused substitutes for England and Wales respectively.
Cisse's native group went undefeated from their matches, with the Young Lions' Elite League squad drawing 1-1 with Turkiye and defeating Romania 2-0 at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park stadium.
Raised in West Bromwich, Ben has a long association with his country having received call-ups at U15, 17, 18, 19 and 20s level. While in the PL2 team this year, the 18-year-old has started two of their first three matches since penning pro terms in the summer.
And full-back Williams was on the bench for Cymru's 21s as they beat Iceland 2-1 in their Euro 2025 qualifier in Reykjavík.
Since his first inclusion in his country's Under-16s, Alex has featured at 17, 18, 19 and 21s level. At The Hawthorns this season, the 19-year-old has featured twice in Richard Beale's PDP group.
