Albion were beaten 3-1 by Derby County at The Hawthorns on Easter Monday.

The Rams held a strong half-time advantage after Ebou Adams’ opener and an own-goal.

Substitute Adam Armstrong’s strike got the Baggies back in the game, though Nathaniel Mendez-Laing’s late effort eventually secured the visitors all three Sky Bet Championship points.

Tony Mowbray made three alterations to his starting XI as Mason Holgate, Ousmane Diakite and Grady Diangana came in.

Yet Albion - who had an early penalty shout waved away - were behind inside seven minutes when Ebou Adams headed home from a corner.

And Derby doubled their lead on the half-hour mark via a Darnell Furlong own-goal, the defender putting into his own net as another corner caused the hosts problems.

The Baggies went close to scoring twice before the break, Isaac Price curling narrowly off-target and Tom Fellows seeing a volley spectacularly saved, but it remained 0-2.

Following a quiet start to the second period, Albion introduced Armstrong, Jed Wallace, Daryl Dike and Karlan Grant for the final 30 minutes.

And Armstrong soon halved the deficit - the striker racing through and slotting under Josh Vickers.

However, Derby netted again during the final stages via Mendez-Laing, confirming the visitors’ victory in B71.
