Albion will join the world in celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) this coming weekend.

The men’s fixture against Queens Park Rangers at The Hawthorns falls on IWD - Saturday, March 8 - and the club have a number of plans ready to mark the occasion.

Members from pioneering partners Her Game Too (HGT) are set to be flag bearers, and Women’s Manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still - as well as multiple players - are participating in a hospitality Q&A session in The Richardson Suite.

Tony Mowbray’s group will also wear HGT branded warm-up T-Shirts, while you can find dedicated content within the matchday programme and up on the stadium’s big screens.

A young female supporter will help out over the PA system, and there is plenty to keep an eye on before the weekend, too.

A special feature detailing Albion Women Manager Siobhan Hodgetts-Still’s journey from fan, to player, to coach, is one of a few special videos due to be released across the club website and social media channels.

The Foundation are hosting a Premier League Inspires event, as well as various ‘Biggest Ever Football Sessions’ with girls from primary and secondary schools towards the end of the week - which will be documented online and in Albion News. Two female students are also taking part in a ‘supporter to reporter’ scheme at Saturday’s match.

And the celebrations continue the following Sunday when the women’s team host a dedicated IWD fixture for their next home game, which is against Burnley at The Valley Stadium on March 16.
