Albion Under-18s suffered a setback at the start of 2022 after falling to defeat against West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.
Despite going 2-0 behind after Divin Mubama's spot-kick and Callum Marshall's first-half effort, the young Baggies responded well.
Creative midfielder Fenton Heard pulled a goal back 14 minutes after Marshall's early strike and eight minutes into the second 45, the hosts were level at 2-2 courtesy of Mackenzie Lamb's effort.
But further goals from George Earthy, Karlan Casey and Jemiah Umolu in the closing stages condemned Peter Gilbert's youngsters to defeat at Albion's training ground.
Still, the Baggies will be focused on using the positives to bounce back in their next outing, which sees them face a tough test against Manchester United on Saturday, January 15 (ko 11.30am).
