West Bromwich Albion's final match before Christmas is a clash with Bristol City at The Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon (ko 3pm).

The Baggies' 12-game unbeaten run came to an end at Watford last weekend, with Carlos Corberán's men slipping to a narrow 2-1 reverse.

Opponents Bristol City head to the West Midlands sitting comfortably in mid-table, collecting 27 points from their 21 league encounters.

The Robins have recorded back-to-back 1-1 draws at Sunderland and then against QPR in front of their own supporters.

Albion took four points off Sunday's guests last term, drawing 0-0 away in September before claiming a 2-0 triumph in B71 in March.

The visitors

Bristol City have made a solid start to the 2024/25 term and head into the Christmas period sat in the middle of the division.

The Robins have won six, drawn nine and lost six of their 21 games, picking up 27 points, scoring as many goals as they have conceded (26).

They'll arrive in the West Midlands on the back of consecutive 1-1 draws up at Sunderland and then at home to QPR, meaning they've suffered just one defeat in their last four fixtures, but have also only won one of their last six.

Sunday's visitors are the Championship's joint-longest serving side. They, QPR and Preston North End are all now into their 10th consecutive campaign in the second tier, with City recording four top-half finishes and five bottom-half finishes in their previous nine terms.

Liam Manning's men have had a mixed bag of results away from Ashton Gate, winning three, drawing four and losing four of their 11 matches on the road.

Manning, 39, has also managed MK Dons and Oxford United. He joined Bristol City in November 2023 and has a record of 17 wins, 17 draws and 20 defeats from his 54 matches as their boss.

One from the history books

Albion defeated the Robins 4-1 back in the Coca-Cola Championship in November 2009.

Efforts from Jerome Thomas and Chris Brunt had the hosts two goals to the good after just 12 minutes.

Louis Carey scored an own goal moments into the second period, with Simon Cox making it four almost instantly.

Paul Hartley bagged a consolation for City, but it was the Baggies who took all three points.

Details of entertainment and refreshments on offer will be published here at the earliest possible opportunity.

Multibank 2024 Christmas campaign

Albion and The Albion Foundation will support The Multibank for their 2024 Christmas Campaign.

The movement is designed to raise awareness and respond to the rising issue of hygiene poverty among young people around the country.

For the Baggies’ fixture against Bristol City on Sunday, the club will facilitate a matchday donation drive, encouraging supporters to gift essential products such as soap, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, provided they are sealed and in date.

This will all support the building of essential hygiene packs - enabling fans, alongside the playing squad and club staff, to play an active role in getting these items into the hands of those most in need within the local community over the festive period.

Baggies supporters can drop off the suggested items ahead of kick-off versus the Robins in two places. There will be containers at the Fan Zone, which will be clearly located next to The Albion Foundation’s area, as well as in the Sports Hall on Halfords Lane.

For those not in attendance but keen to support the activation, donations can be pledged at multibank.co.uk.

Supporters are urged to an eye across club channels for further information regarding this campaign.
