Albion Women were beaten by Hull City in their FA WNL Northern Premier encounter on Sunday afternoon.
The Baggies conceded two first-half efforts from Izzy Gigg and Sophie Tinson and were unable to capitalise on their opportunities to get back into the game.
Albion are next in action on Sunday, February 9 when they travel to Sporting Khalsa (2pm).
Head coach Siobhan Hodgetts-Still made three changes to the side that lost to Liverpoool Feds last weekend. Impressive substitute performances that afternoon from Ella Haughey, Simran Jhamat and Ellie May meant all three players were rewarded with a start at the Valley Stadium.
The visitors opened the scoring early on. Gigg evaded the attention of the Baggies defence to stroke home after meeting cross which sailed through to the back post.
Albion had little in the way of chances before Hull extended their advantage. Striker Tinson created space for herself in the penalty area before firing high past Anna Miller.
The Baggies had opportunities to swing the game back in their favour following the visitors' second. Ellie May looked to have rounded goalkeeper Abi Wallace before seeing her effort saved.
Later on, Izzy Green scored from a corner, only to see her goal agonisingly chalked off for offside, leaving Albion empty-handed.
Albion Women: Miller; Brown, Green, George, Haughey; Watkins, Rabjohn; Mahmood (Oliver 77’), Jhamat (Miller 57’), Warner (Rhodes 57’); May.
