Albion Women were beaten by rivals Wolves in an FA WNL Northern Premier Division match on Sunday.

The Baggies suffered a first home defeat since mid-September - despite the excellent support of almost 2,000 fans at The Hawthorns.

The team will look to bounce back next weekend when they travel to Middlesbrough in the FA WNL Cup second round.

Siobhan Hodgetts-Still made two changes from the side that narrowly lost away to Hull City the previous weekend. Mariam Mahmood and Simran Jhamat made way for Ella Haughey and the return of Marli Rhodes-Andrews.

Though the match remained goalless for the opening 25 minutes, the visitors were rampant in the latter stages of the first period, scoring four through Tammi George, Charlotte Greengrass (2), and Beth Merrick.

And there was more frustration for for the Baggies following the interval. Greengrass added her third and fourth goals, along with a strike from substitute Jade Cross as well as another George effort.

Albion Women: Miller, Brown, Reynolds, Green, George (Jhamat 72’), Haughey; Evans, Rabjohn (Watkins 71’); Warner, May (Oakley 71’), Rhodes-Andrews (Mahmood 58’).

Substitutes: Pullen, Harris, Whittick.
