Albion Women grabbed their first win of the season with a convincing 4-1 win over Loughborough Lightning on Sunday.
Head Coach Jenny Sugarman made one change to her starting XI as Hayley Crackle returned to the starting XI.
And the Baggies came flying out of the box, going close twice through Straker and Shannon Stamps in the opening 20 minutes.
Albion’s attacking threat was proving difficult to manage for the visitors, and they were reduced to 10-men when Lauren Taft was sent off for taking down Stamps.
It remained goalless going into half-time, but shortly into the second period the home side found a breakthrough when Stamps rifled the ball into the top corner from the edge of the area.
Just before the hour mark that advantage was doubled, and it was Stamps again – this time with a fantastic dink following good play with Pheobe Warner.
Straker added a third at close-range before Ash Brown drilled in Albion’s fourth, and despite a late penalty for Loughborough the Baggies claimed a well-deserved three points.
