Allardyce: 'We should have won against Wolves'

Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce believes his Albion side created enough chances to win Monday’s Black Country derby against Wolves.

The Baggies had to settle for a draw at The Hawthorns despite carving out a host of opportunities, with Wolves’ stopper Rui Patricio making a number of important saves.

And the boss was left disappointed by the result, claiming Albion deserved all three points.

Allardyce said: “We created enough chances to win that game on Monday night.

“Under normal circumstances, I don’t think the Albion fans watching that would have been too disappointed.

“We needed a victory though, not a draw.

“Over the 90 minutes, we gave ourselves enough opportunities to win this game two or three one and failed to do so. That’s been our situation for a long period of time sadly.

“We scored a great goal today, but the chances we had before that we really should have put them away.

“If you look at their goal, you say to yourself why couldn’t one of those go in for us, but that’s the way the game goes. It’s pretty cruel.

“We’re competing well but we’re getting too many draws.”
