Latest Albion Women signing Beth McGowan says settling in with her new team-mates has been a seamless process and she expressed her excitement in becoming a part of the squad at The Hawthorns.
The central midfielder signed on a dual-registration deal this month from Birmingham City, and was thrust into the action by head coach Siobhan Hodgetts-Still for the club's FA Cup first-round tie against Lye Town.
The Baggies cruised to an 8-2 win thanks to a superb second-half showing, in which McGowan played a key role having been brought on over the break in the fixture.
She says she loved her first experience as a Baggie and is looking forward for what's to come for the rest of the season.
"I loved it. The first half was a bit frustrating, but I thought second half we really got the ball moving and I really enjoyed it, it was a great win for us and a great way for me to get started," she said.
"It was a really fun half of football to be a part of, and I think the girls deserved that kind of result."
McGowan didn't have long to get to grips with her new team-mates, with the announcement of her move to the Black Country coming just hours ahead of kick-off in the FA Cup clash.
However, she hailed the squad and the coaching staff for making her transition to Albion as smooth as possible - and admits having trust from her new head coach makes that all the easier.
"I feel like it was quite easy to settle in despite things happening so quickly. That's a testament to all the girls who have all been so nice.
"You can tell they’re all so close and a great bunch to be a part of, the same goes for the coaching staff too."
“It’s a massive boost knowing, as a young player, that your manager backs you and I just need to show her that she can put that trust in me as a new player.
"Hopefully that's something I can continue to do as the games go by."
