Brandon Thomas-Asante arrives at The Hawthorns in a rich vein of form having started the 2022/23 season on fire for Salford City.

The 23-year-old striker, who will don the No.21 shirt for the Baggies, netted five goals from seven appearances in all competitions for the Sky Bet League Two side before earning a move to Albion.

He began his career at MK Dons, joining the club aged 12 and progressing through their academy before breaking into the senior set-up.

Brandon was named the Dons’ Young Player of the Year for the 2016/17 term – the same campaign he scored his first professional goal in, in an FA Cup game against Spennymoor Town.

Loans at then non-league Sutton United and Oxford City continued his development ahead of a brief spell at Ebbsfleet United after his release from Milton Keynes.

But he was soon picked up by newly-promoted fourth tier team Salford in August 2019 and netted six in 20 league appearances during his maiden Ammies campaign.

Six more goals followed during the 2020/21 season - but his most prolific spell came last year. An eye-catching personal best of 13 goals, as well as six assists, saw him finish as the club’s top scorer and earn interest from clubs in the EFL’s higher reaches.
