Carlos Corberán says he was really pleased to see his side push for even more goals despite putting four past Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
The Albion strengthened their spot in the top five of the Sky Bet Championship with a very comfortable 4-1 triumph against the Lancashire outfit at The Hawthorns, with Tom Fellows, Brandon Thomas-Asante (2) and Dom Hyam (OG) all on target for Corberán's men.
Albion’s fourth and final goal arrived in the 63rd minute of the encounter, but the Baggies kept on hunting further strikes and went close to adding a fifth on several occasions.
The boss believes it was a display which was full of determination and says the team feel really “confident” at home after claiming a fourth successive B71 victory.
Carlos said: “The win today was based on the mentality that the players put into the performance from the first minute until the last.
“We didn’t win our last league game and the team put a lot of determination into making sure they went for the result that we wanted to achieve.
“For the team, It was important to start the game with the mentality that we started with.
“When you have the reward of this mentality in terms of the goals, you are going to keep believing more and you’re going to keep going for more goals.
“I really liked that in the team today.
“Sometimes, when you are winning the game with quite a big goal difference, you need to know how to manage the game and not stop what you were doing to get into that position. I liked the reaction of the team, going for more goals.
“The chances for us to score goals increased in the last minutes of the game too.
“It’s always very important for our strikers to score goals. It’s always something they have on their mind.
“I am pleasded with the work Brandon was doing, pressing, linking the game and scoring two good goals.
“It’s important to win both at home and away.
“It’s true we have the full belief and confidence that we can perform well and achieve good results here at home, but it’s always going to be a challenged.
“This game is part of the past now. We need to keep growing and keep growing the mentality that we have to keep extending this run at home.”
