Carlos Corberán has revealed Matty Phillips will miss Albion’s Sky Bet Championship trip to Burnley on Friday night (ko 8pm).
The Baggies winger suffered an injury to his quadricep muscles during the latter stages of the club’s 4-0 victory at home to Chesterfield in the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday night and had to leave the pitch.
The boss says the club are waiting on scan results which will determine the severity of the injury, before deciding on a recovery plan.
Corberán had better news regarding striker Karlan Grant though, saying he’ll be back in the squad having missed the last two matches against Luton Town and Chesterfield.
Carlos said: “We are still waiting for news on Matty Phillips because you have to wait 48 hours until the scan.
“You can’t have a proper view of the injury until you’ve had the scan.
“Unfortunately, he’s not going to be available for the game against Burnley.
“We need to wait to see when he will be available to return to the team.
“Karlan Grant trained on Thursday and he reacted well to it. Thankfully his wasn’t a serious injury.
“He’s going to be with the team tomorrow, which is a positive.”
