Carlos Corberán has received his second successive Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month nomination.
The Baggies boss, who was also shortlisted for November’s award, is in the running to take home December’s crown following a number of eye-catching results and performances from his side.
The Baggies marched to four victories and three clean sheets from their five league matches in the month, earning triumphs over Sunderland, Rotherham United, Bristol City and Preston North End.
Corberán’s men didn’t concede a single goal from open play and shot up from 22nd in the table ahead of kick-off against Sunderland on Monday, December 12, to ninth and one point outside the top six after beating Preston at The Hawthorns on Thursday, December 29.
The Spaniard is up against Sheffield United’s Paul Heckingbottom, Sunderland’s Tony Mowbray and Burnley’s Vincent Kompany.
The winner is set to be announced on Friday, January 13. The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel includes former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
