Carlos Corberán delivered an honest assessment of his side’s performance in their 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday lunchtime.
First-half strikes from Iliman Ndiaye and Oli McBurnie were enough for the Blades at The Hawthorns.
Corberán believes Albion displayed examples of a lack of coordination at the back and not having enough bravery in the final third.
The boss said: “The game showed us the reality of the team and the situation which we need to come in and change.
“We didn’t start the game well at all and that’s disappointing because we wanted to show that we were ready to give the best to our fans.
“There were examples of a lack of coordination at the back and there were some defensive problems.
“There were some attacking concepts which we need to work on too, which will, hopefully, allow us to win more games going forward.
“We needed to change a few things throughout the match which we hoped would give us a better hold of the game. The team performed better in the second 45 and they showed spirit and personality.
“We attacked more and created more than we did in the first half. We also conceded less chances and we were brave enough to take some more risks.
“I know that this team has been suffering from conceding early goals. For me, conceding any goal at any time is bad.
“We need to fix every type of goal we conceded. Not just the early ones.
“We will analyse everything from today and try to improve in every aspect when we play Blackpool on Tuesday.”
