Albion’s clash with Huddersfield Town is edging closer, and in case you didn’t know already, Saturday’s fixture marks the annual Foundation Day, with ‘Football for All’, this year’s theme.
We’re encouraging all fans to ‘Bring a Pound to the Ground’ for Albion’s clash with Huddersfield as we look to raise important funds to allow football to be accessible for all.
We’ve been showcasing the positive impact The Albion Foundation has on its local community in the lead up to Foundation Day, looking at the Early Years set up with Mini & Junior Baggies and our Pre-Academy, as well as our Player Development Academies so far.
The next stage of the footballing pathway at The Albion Foundation is Premier League Kicks, which is aimed at children aged between 10 and 16 in the Sandwell area.
Premier League Kicks aims to use the reach and appeal of the Premier League and its network of professional football clubs to regularly engage children and young people of all background and abilities in football, sport and personal development.
It provides a positive environment for young people in the community to meet new people, build relationships, engage in physical activity and be able speak to and learn from the coaches and their experiences.
Since Premier League Kicks began, communities up and down the country have been transformed with impressive football and sports participation rates and the authorities reporting significant reductions in anti-social behaviour in the areas in which it is delivered.
The Albion Foundation deliver Premier League Kicks sessions at venues within the Sandwell and Dudley boroughs, at Gospel Oak Sports Centre, Goals Dudley, Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy, George Salter Academy and Hadley Stadium, with activities running from Monday to Friday during term time.
