Chris Gordon has won the 2024/25 Disability Player of the Season award, sponsored by Bache Group.

Gordon was presented with the trophy on stage at the end of season awards dinner in the Richardson Suite at The Hawthorns on Monday night.

Gordon is the player/coach of Albion Powerchair FC, having progressed from being a volunteer at The Albion Foundation, all the way through to a member of staff.

During his time at the club, Gordon has won the WFA Premiership five times, the WFA Cup twice and the FA Disability Cup on three separate occasions.

The 34-year-old is one of the highest goalscorers in England history, bagging 206 career goals as well as helping his country to multiple medals across European and World Championships.

Gordon’s impact on the club continues to show, with the Baggies leading the way at the top of the WFA Premiership and set for a WFA Cup quarter-final showdown in May.

This is the second accolade Gordon has won in the last six months, after he became the latest inductee into the Foundation Hall of Fame in December of 2024 – and he described himself as “privileged” to receive the award.

“I'm privileged to get this award,” Gordon said. “But there are so many who could also get this award.

“Powerchair football is one of those sports that you really have to see to believe - the power of powerchair football is amazing. For the Foundation it's all about recognition, we're footballers in our own right and the work that the teams do and the stories within are fantastic.

“The Foundation has led me to so many opportunities, and we hope to get more chances to show everyone what we’re about.”
