Seven members of the Albion squad helped bring some festive joy to the young patients and hard-working staff at the new Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Club captain Jed Wallace was joined by Josh Maja, Torbjørn Heggem, Alex Palmer, Callum Styles, Grady Diangana and Harry Whitwell around the wards.

The group handed out gifts provided by The Albion Foundation, posed for pictures and spent time with poorly children - as well as their families, nurses and doctors.

Speaking at the hospital, Jed said: “We’ve come on down to Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital to visit people over Christmas.

“I know myself having three children how difficult it would be to have kids in hospital over Christmas. It’s been really nice, but humbling, to come down and see the guys who work for the hospital and hand out presents.

“I’ve spoken at great lengths before about the quality of work the Albion Foundation do with the club and in the community. This is just another example.

“To give up an hour of our time is absolutely nothing.

“The brand new hospital is amazing and the staff have been amazing. We all hope everyone here can enjoy Christmas as much as possible.”
