A fast start helped Derby County's PL2 side ease out Albion's at the Proctor Cars Stadium on Friday evening.

A brace from Cruz Allen, either side of Emmanuel Ilesanmi, handed the hosts a comfortable 3-0 lead within 18 minutes of the encounter in Matlock.

Dan Chimeziri notched his first Under-21s goal before the break to give the young Baggies chance of a fightback, but Johnson Osong struck in the second 45 to quell any chance of a revival from the visitors - condemning them to three straight defeats in the Premier League 2.

Their next chance to make amends comes on Sunday, November 10 (ko 1pm) when Albion's academy hopefuls travel to Fleetwood Town in the PL Cup.

Albion: Cisse, Nelson, Williams, Diomande (c), Shaw, Humphries (Parker 46), Deeming, Whitwell, Walker (Crowther 59), Bostock (Onyemachi 46), Chimeziri (Sule 68).

Substitutes: Brady (GK).
