Albion Women defender Lucy Newell has been presented with her 2022/23 end of year awards at the club’s training ground.
Club legend Chris Brunt handed over the prizes as Lucy, who was a childhood Baggies fan, picked up the trophies for Players' Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season.
Newell missed the team’s awards night due to being away with England Under-17s, where she was part of the squad that reached the UEFA Women’s U17 European Championships Semi-Finals in May.

The young centre-back’s efforts last season earned plenty of praise from Albion’s coaching staff, and new boss Siobhan Hodgetts is delighted she’ll have her on board again for the 2023/24 term.
“Lucy’s development last season was fantastic and that was proven by her deservedly picking up these awards,” said the boss.
“It was great for her to gain further international experience with the Lionesses over the summer, too, and we’re really excited that she will continue her progress here at Albion.”
