Baggies legend Graham Williams says the unveiling of a Hawthorns suite in his name is an indescribable honour for him and his loved ones.
The former skipper spent almost two decades with the club, playing more than 350 matches and captaining the team to both 1966 League Cup and 1968 FA Cup glory.
The hospitality area, which was officially unveiled by the Welshman on Friday afternoon, sits centrally in the West Stand and was formerly known as the Premier Lounge.
The club announced the news at the back end of July, with Williams set to be in attendance for the grand opening on Saturday afternoon when Carlos Corberán’s Baggies host Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship.
Graham was extremely grateful to all at Albion involved in the project and says it’s one of the proudest days of his life.
“Words simply cannot explain how happy and how proud I am to have a suite named after me at The Hawthorns, a place where I have so many special memories with so many special people,” said the former captain.
“I’ve struggled to find words to describe what an honour and what a privilege it is and I’m so thankful to everyone at the club who made it possible. It’s certainly one of the best days of my life.
“It’s made me emotional thinking about it and to be here today at the unveiling is such a surreal moment.
“Albion is a special place and a special club. It’s always been, and always will be, a family to me.
“I still love being involved with the club and the brilliant Albion Foundation. The work they do is incredible, as everyone knows.
“I still get a terrific buzz from coming to the matches and I’m really looking forward to watching the lads this season from the suite.”
