Ethan Ingram is keen to end the year on a high by helping Albion’s PL2 side secure a morale-boosting result against top-of-the-table Fulham on Monday night (ko 7pm).
The Cottagers travel to the New Bucks Head full of confidence having lost just one of their 13 games in Premier League 2 Division 2 this term.
Nine points separate the young Baggies and their west London counterparts in the standings and after suffering defeat in their last outing in the Premier League Cup against AFC Bournemouth, Richard Beale’s team will be keen to bounce back quickly.
But returning to winning ways is something Albion’s youngsters have done regularly this campaign, doing so after each of their three league defeats, and England youth international Ingram is pushing his teammates to do the same again and take vital momentum into 2022.
“It’s the last game of the year and we want to end it on a high,” said Ingram.
“I’ve been happy with my performances so far this season and feel my involvement in first-team sessions has brought my game to a new level.
“The information you take in with the senior side is completely different, but it’s been vital in my development and I’ve been able to take those things into games with the Under-23s this year.
“We know how dangerous Fulham will be. They’re top of the league for a reason, but we’re just behind them and Monday will be a great opportunity to test ourselves against a good side.
“They got the better of us last time, so there’s added incentive to show them what we’re capable of by taking three points.
“Hopefully we can get the win to make up ground and take momentum into the new year.”
