Jayson Molumby: 'It’s been a positive start under the new gaffer'

Jayson Molumby is interviewed following Albion's win at Loftus Road

Jayson Molumby says Carlos Corberán has installed “determination and belief” into the squad and thinks those characteristics have been evident in recent performances.

The Baggies have won their last two games courtesy of 1-0 scorelines, overcoming Blackpool at The Hawthorns last Tuesday night before following that triumph up with a victory at QPR on Saturday afternoon.

Molumby, who made his 50th appearance for the Albion in the capital against Rangers, wants his side to become a group which is renowned for keeping clean sheets and insists Corberán and the players are working “tirelessly” to make that happen.

Jayson said: “I’m absolutely delighted with that three points at QPR and I think the credit has to go to the whole team.

“Everyone worked tirelessly. We’re all working tirelessly to improve the results as a whole.

“We’ve got two clean sheets and two wins in-a-row which is huge for us.

“I think it always felt like a game which might have been settled by just the single goal.

“The problem for us has been keeping the ball out of the net. We know we have the quality at the top end to score goal, we just needed to work harder as team and as a collective unit to keep the ball out of our own net.

“The new gaffer is trying to make us better defensively and we’re trying to create an identity of being a team that keeps clean sheets.

“It’s been a positive start under the new gaffer. There’s obviously a long way to go and there are still plenty of things we need to work on as a group but it’s certainly been a positive start to things.

“I think from the last two performances the fans will see that we’re all trying to pull together in the right direction. He’s installed a determination and a belief in us and I think we’re trying to do the right things.

“We can only improve and get better.”
