Jess Reavill has been named as Albion Women’s 2023/24 Goal of the Season winner for her late effort against AFC Fylde.
The midfielder rose above the visiting defenders to head home in the 90th minute at the Valley Stadium, earning the Baggies three crucial FAWNL Northern Premier Division points.
And boss Siobhan Hodgetts-Still explained it was the “significance” of the goal which ended up being the determining factor.
“We decided to give it to Jess because when we looked back at the season, it’s one of the goals that meant the most,” said the Head Coach.
“It meant a lot to the players and, ultimately, it’s won because of the significance.
“Everyone loves a last-minute header from a set piece, and it helped us get a massively important victory.
“There were lots of contenders when we reflected on the campaign as a whole, but this goal just about edged it.”
