West Bromwich Albion travel to title-chasing Leeds United in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday lunchtime (ko 12.30).

Tony Mowbray's Baggies claimed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Oxford United at The Hawthorns last weekend courtesy of efforts from midfielders Alex Mowatt and John Swift. That triumph means Albion will head to Elland Road sat fifth in the standings.

Table-topping Leeds United claimed a dramatic 3-1 win at promotion rivals Sheffield United on Monday night, scoring two late goals to seal a fifth straight success in the second tier.

The two teams drew 0-0 in the West Midlands way back in August. The Baggies have the opportunity to extend their unbeaten run against the Whites to four matches this Saturday.

The hosts

Leeds United have the Sky Bet Championship title and promotion back to the Premier League on their mind heading into the final few months of the 2024/25 season.

The Whites, who were beaten 1-0 in the play-off final by Southampton last term, are now five points clear of Sheffield United in second following their eye-catching 3-1 win at Bramall Lane on Monday night, and seven ahead of Burnley in third with a dozen games left.

Their success at the home of the Blades was the fifth straight second-tier match in which they secured maximum points and the 16th where Daniel Farke's men avoided defeat.

Leeds' last league loss came on November 30 2024, falling a 1-0 setback at Blackburn Rovers.

Farke, 48, was appointed in the summer of 2023 having previously managed Norwich City, FC Krasnodar and Borussia Mönchengladbach. The German has a record of 54 victories, 21 draws and just 17 defeats from his 92 fixtures in charge.

Saturday's hosts have been in terrific form in front of their own fans, winning 14, drawing two and losing just one of their 17 encounters at Elland Road. Leeds have scored a league-high 44 home goals, conceding just eight times on their own patch.

One from the history books

A stunning strike from Senegalese striker Diomansy Kamara helped Albion secure three Championship points at Elland Road in January 2007.

Tore-Andre Flo's header put Leeds 1-0 up, but Jonathan Greening's effort and Kamara's brace had the Baggies in control at the break.

Alan Thompson found the top corner with a second-half free-kick, but the Baggies held on to claim an away victory.
