Four Baggies played for their respective loan clubs over the weekend.
Karlan Grant was certainly involved in the best of Saturday’s fixtures as he helped Cardiff City come from behind to win three dramatic points against automatic promotion-chasers Ipswich Town.
Kieffer Moore looked to have earned the East Anglian side a vital win with his second-half strike in the 79th minute. However, the Bluebirds would turn things on its head in South Wales with two stoppage-time efforts.
Grant played the full game and earned the corner which led to City finding the winning goal through Callum O’Dowda, who promptly added to Ryan Wintle’s leveller in the tenth minute of added time to complete an impressive comeback.
Fellow Baggies loan players had to settle for minutes off the bench elsewhere in the EFL.
In Sky Bet League Two, Mo Faal played 45 minutes in Walsall’s 2-0 defeat at Forest Green Rovers, while Jamie Andrews came on in the 88th minute of Grimsby Town’s 1-1 draw at Sutton United.
Finally, Ronnie Hollingshead was between the sticks once again for Alvechurch in the Southern League Premier Central Division, but was unable to prevent them from falling to back-to-back defeats as they lost 4-1 against St Ives Town.
Zac Ashworth made his return to the Bolton squad for their 2-2 draw with Exeter City as an unused substitute, but the full-back will hope to be involved in the League One side’s promotion push on Tuesday night when they host Oxford United in their next game.
