Five Albion players were in action for their loan clubs across three divisions over the weekend.
In Sky Bet League One, goalkeeper Josh Griffiths and defender Caleb Taylor came up against each other as Taylor’s Cheltenham Town hosted Griffiths’ Portsmouth.
Both players completed 90 minutes for their respective teams at the Completely-Suzuki Stadium, but it was Griffiths who was celebrating at 5pm on Saturday afternoon.
Portsmouth ran out 2-0 winners thanks to a goal in each half from Colby Bishop. The result means Griffiths has now kept three consecutive clean sheets for Pompey across League One and the Carabao Cup.
Elsewhere in the third tier, midfielder Quevin Castro was an unused sub for Burton Albion who drew 4-4 at Accrington Stanley.
In the Sky Bet Championship, midfielder Alex Mowatt and defender Cedric Kipre both featured for their teams.
Mowatt came off the bench to make his Boro debut in their 2-2 draw with Sheffield United at the Riverside Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Mowatt replaced Marcus Forss just after the hour in a game which saw the visitors twice throw away the lead as the points were shared.
Kipre completed another 90 minutes for Cardiff City on Saturday lunchtime, with the Bluebirds securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Birmingham City.
Jaden Philogene-Bidace scored the game’s only goal in the 17th minute at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Finally, in Sky Bet League Two, forward Rayhaan Tulloch made his league debut for Rochdale as they lost 1-0 at home to Grimsby Town.
The 21-year-old started for The Dale at the Crown Oil Arena, but was substituted after 61 minutes of action.
