Loan Watch | Five feature as Caleb Taylor & Souleyman Mandey score

Caleb Taylor celebrates scoring for Wycombe Wanderers at Shrewsbury Town

Two Baggies found their net for their respective loan clubs over the weekend.

Caleb Taylor notched his first Wycombe Wanderers goal during their 4-1 triumph at Shrewsbury Town in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon.

The Baggies man finished from close range following a corner at the very end of the first period to make it 2-0 to the visitors - that goal arriving after Beryly Lubala had nodded in the opener.

Fred Onyedinma and Dan Udoh also found the net for Taylor’s team, with Jordan Shipley scoring for the Shrews.

Caleb completed the full game at the Crowd Meadow.

The result means Wycombe stay top of the third tier, sitting one point clear of Birmingham City and two clear of Wrexham.

Midfielder Souelyman Mandey was also celebrating this weekend, cooly converting Stourbridge’s opener in their impressive 3-0 win at Leiston in the Southern League Premier Central division.

The Austrian played 72 minutes before being swapped for Miro Pais. Alex Bradley and Elliott Durrell also scored for the Glassboys as they climbed to fifth in the standings.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Josh Griffiths played the entirety of Bristol Rovers’ 2-0 defeat at Birmingham City in League One.

Both of Blues’ goals arrived before the break, with Lee Buchanan and Jay Stansfield on target.

The setback leaves Rovers one place and two points above the danger zone.

Finally, two academy graduates earned more senior minutes for Alvechurch in the same league as Mandey and Stourbridge.

Goalkeeper Ronnie Hollingshead played 90 minutes as the Church lost 1-0 at home to Spalding United. Midfielder Matt Richards came on for the hosts shortly after the hour, replacing Ammar Dyer.

The visitors won it at the death thanks to Bartosz Cybulski’s effort, leaving Ronnie and Matt’s side 17th in the table and just three points clear of trouble.
