West Bromwich Albion welcome Rotherham United to The Hawthorns on Wednesday night for the 42nd game of the 2023/24 Sky Bet Championship campaign (ko 8pm).

The Baggies, who are unbeaten in nine league matches, drew 2-2 with Stoke City on Saturday at the bet365 Stadium.

The visitors from Yorkshire were relegated from the second tier on Friday night. Their 1-0 home defeat to Plymouth Argyle ended their slim chances of avoiding the drop.

Carlos Corberán's team were 2-0 victors in the reverse clash two weeks before Christmas, with Grady Diangana and Jed Wallace finding the net.

The opponents

Rotherham United's relegation to Sky Bet League One was confirmed following their 1-0 defeat at home to Plymouth Argyle on Friday night.

The Millers have been rooted to the foot of the division for the majority of the second half of the 2023/24 campaign and have collected just 23 points and four victories from their 41 matches contested.

They'll be playing for pride when they visit The Hawthorns, a venue they last won at in February 2004 courtesy of a Chris Sedgwick effort.

Wednesday's visitors have lost 16 of their 20 away league fixtures so far this term, drawing the other four, but will be determined to spring a surprise and record a victory against Carlos Corberán's play-off chasers.

Former Wigan Athletic boss Leam Richardson manages the Millers. The 44-year-old was appointed in the middle of December 2023 and took charge of the club for the first time in the reverse encounter - a clash the Baggies won 2-0 in Yorkshire.

Richardson led the Latics to the League One title in 2021/22 and he'll be hoping to oversee a successful term next year once the current season ends.
