Tony Mowbray's second spell as West Bromwich Albion Head Coach begins with a Sky Bet Championship trip to another club extremely close to his heart on Tuesday night.
The Baggies, who appointed the 61-year-old on a two-and-a-half year contract on Friday night, take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium (ko 7.45pm).
Mowbray captained the Teessiders and made more than 400 appearances as a player before going on to manage them between 2010 and 2013.
He watched on from the stands on Saturday afternoon as Albion fought back from a goal down to earn a point at home to Stoke City.
Boro, meanwhile, suffered a 2-1 defeat on the south coast against relegation-threatened Portsmouth.
The reverse fixture back in October was won by Middlesbrough thanks to Hayden Hackney's fine finish inside the last 20 minutes.

The hosts
Middlesbrough are still very much on the hunt for a spot in the Sky Bet Championship play-offs despite their disappointing defeat at Portsmouth over the weekend.
Tuesday's hosts, who were beaten 2-1 by Pompey at Fratton Park, are level on points with Albion, sitting one place below Tony Mowbray's men in seventh as a result of goal difference.
Boro have only won one of their last seven matches in league and cup and have drawn their last three at the Riverside Stadium - a ground where they've only lost three times in 14 games so far this season.
They've finished in the top ten in six of the last seven years, participating in the play-offs twice in 2017/18 and 2022/23.
Michael Carrick is tasked with guiding them there once again and will want to see a big push from his players heading into the final few months of the term.
Carrick, a former England international midfielder, took charge in October 2022 and has managed 117 Middlesbrough games, winning 55, drawing 22 and losing 39.
One from the history books
Albion put on a five-star show to blow Boro away at the Riverside in September 2009.
Chris Brunt bagged a brace on an afternoon where Youssouf Mulumbu, Roman Bednar and Jerome Thomas also found the net.

The stats
Tuesday's clash will be the third time Tony Mowbray has taken charge of West Bromwich Albion at Middlesbrough. The Baggies drew 2-2 in the FA Cup in February 2007 and won 1-0 in the Premier League in September 2008.
The encounter will be the 141st for Mowbray as Albion boss. His Baggies record reads won 58, lost 52 and 30 draws.
Mowbray will be facing Middlesbrough for the 16th time as a manager in midweek. He's claimed six victories and five draws against his former club, losing four matches.
Albion will be hoping to improve on a recent record of just one win in their last six trips to the Riverside Stadium. Hal Robson-Kanu's close-range effort was enough to secure three points in October 2019, but that's the only victory the Baggies have had there in the last half a dozen fixtures on Teesside.
Middlesbrough have won the last two head-to-heads 1-0. They have a chance to claim three consecutive victories over Albion for the first time since April 2005.
