Mikey Johnston helped the Republic of Ireland claim a 2-1 victory over Bulgaria in a UEFA Nations League promotion/relegation play-off on Thursday night.
The Baggies winger completed 76 minutes at the Hristo Botev Stadium in Plovdiv before being replaced by Bristol City’s Mark Sykes.
The hosts took the lead in the first leg thanks to Marin Petkov’s controlled finish just six minutes into the encounter.

However, Ireland hit back twice before the break courtesy of a pair of headers from Finn Azaz and Matt Doherty.
That’s how it stayed out in Plovdiv, with the second leg set to take place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin on Sunday, March 23 (ko 7.45pm).
Congratulations Mikey, and good luck for the return fixture!
