Albion drew 1-1 away to Millwall in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon.

An own-goal ensured the Baggies claimed a point after Jake Cooper had initially put the hosts ahead - and neither team managed to grab a second-half winner.

Tony Mowbray’s side return to action at The Hawthorns next weekend, hosting Oxford United.

Tony Mowbray rung the changes following Albion’s midweek defeat, bringing in Semi Ajayi, Ousmane Diakite, Jed Wallace, Grady Diangana and Will Lankshear.

Lukas Jensen saved Adam Armstrong’s quick effort but otherwise it was the Lions who created the early chances. Cooper should have done better when directing a header narrowly over, while Casper De Norre and Femi Azeez both finished narrowly off-target.

They then scored via Cooper on 19 minutes - the defender nodding home at the back post. Yet that goal seemed to shock Albion into life, with Darnell Furlong seeing his low cross netted by a Millwall player for an equaliser almost out of nowhere.

And the visitors concluded the half stronger despite not scoring again, most notably smacking the crossbar through Diangana’s deflected side-footer.

Albion were indebted to Joe Wildsmith during the start of the second period, the goalkeeper brilliantly tipping over Cooper’s attempt before somehow denying Japhet Tanganga from the resulting corner.

Numerous disruptions made it a disjointed 45 minutes where opportunities became increasingly hard to find, though there was a lovely moment as Daryl Dike returned to action for the first time in more than a year.

Wildsmith stopped another three Millwall shots towards the end - halting substitute Camiel Neghli twice alongside smartly gathering a rebound.

John Swift struck Albion’s best late opening wide, too, leaving the spoils to be shared in the capital.
