Okay Yokuslu described his thunderous strike at Huddersfield Town on Sunday as the perfect late birthday present.
The Turkish midfielder, who scored Albion’s third goal in the 4-1 win at the John Smith’s Stadium, turned 30 on Saturday.
Yokuslu insists the second he hit it, he knew it was in, and believes it was a crucial moment in the encounter.
He said: “When Mikey started to dribble, I thought an opportunity could come my way because I was on the edge of the box.
“The moment I hit it, I was pretty sure it was going to go in.
“It was a very good goal, probably one of the best I’ve ever scored.
“The main thing for me was relief actually because after the third goal, we knew the game was going to be easier for us.
“It was a great moment. I was so happy for the team and myself.
“We struggled in the first half and we were talking about how we could manage the game better such as winning second balls.
“We all spoke at half-time about how we could be better and we were much better in the second half.
“It was my birthday yesterday so it was a perfect present for me.”
