Okay Yokuslu’s sensational strike against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium has won the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month award for March.
The Turkish midfielder fired home a thunderous attempt from the best part of 30 yards in Albion’s 4-1 away victory on Sunday, March 10.
Yoksulu’s effort saw off competition from Baggies team-mate Mikey Johnston for his goal against Coventry City, as well as entries by Norwich City’s Gabriel Sara and QPR’s Jimmy Dunne.
And Okay was delighted to have been voted March’s winner - revealing it was one of his best ever hits.
“I’m really pleased and proud to win this award," he said. "I’d like to thank everyone who voted for me.”
“The goal was such a great moment for the team - and it was great for me, too, because it was my birthday the day before and that was the perfect present.
“I remember the moment I hit it, I was pretty sure it was going to go in. It was a very good goal and probably one of the best I’ve ever scored."
