Okay Yoksulu’s UEFA EURO 2024 journey with his nation Turkiye was halted by the Netherlands on Saturday night.
The Dutch won the quarter-final tie 2-1 in Berlin, with the Albion midfielder completing the final 13 minutes after replacing Salih Ozcan.
Turkiye went ahead through Samet Akaydin’s header in the first 45. However, another header from Stefan de Vrij and a close-range finish converted into his own net by Okay’s team-mate Mert Mulder turned the contest on its head.
That victory for Netherlands teed-up a semi-final showdown with England in Dortmund on Wednesday.
Commiserations, Okay!
