Albion's youngsters exited the PL Cup after they fell to a 3-2 defeat against QPR on Monday evening.
Richard Beale's youngsters twice took the lead through a brilliant Eseosa Sule brace, but were ultimately pegged back by the Londoners in an exciting encounter at Damson Park.
Albion made all the headway in the opening minutes, and they could have netted twice almost instantly.
First it was Harry Whitwell who saw a header cleared off the line, before Sule was played in down the left only to see his poked effort saved.
It didn't take much longer for the hosts to earn just rewards for their bright start, when Sule coolly slotted into the bottom left corner having been played in behind once again.
He could've doubled his tally just ahead of the half hour mark after sprinting past his defender once again, but goalkeeper Nathan Shepperd got down to deny Albion the cushion of a two-goal lead.
Then, following an R's corner there was another golden opportunity for the front man, breaking away down the middle of the pitch only to be stopped once more by the busy visiting shot-stopper.

QPR saw a speculative penalty shout turned down as the half came to its conclusion, but whilst they gained more of a foothold - they did little to truly test Ben Cisse in goal before the break.
But Rangers would find their equaliser eight minutes into the second period after working their way down the right before cutting back to find Cian Dillon to slam into the roof of the net from close range.
The parity between the sides was short-lived though, with Sule continuing his first half brilliance to get the Baggies back in front.
After being played in on the left, he bullied his marker before cutting inside and firing past the near post and into the bottom corner to restore the hosts' advantage.
The visitors were unfazed by going behind for a second time, and were soon back level once more - this time through Emmerson Sutton, who made no mistake getting onto the end of a low ball across the Baggies' box to fire home.

The R's then gained the lead less than 20 minutes from time, after Dillon burst through on goal before sending Cisse the wrong way.
Whitwell had a powerful strike saved before Fenton Heard saw two efforts go begging, as the Baggies pushed for an equaliser of their own.
Sule almost nodded home what would've been a dramatic third, but his looping header went agonisingly over onto the roof of the net, ensuring there would be no need for extra time as QPR earned passage into the semi-finals.
