Richard Beale said he was disappointed his side were unable to deliver a second successive positive result as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat at home to Bristol City on Tuesday night.
The Robins scored twice before the break courtesy of Joe Williams and Nahki Wells goals, before defending resolutely to prevent the Baggies from finding a route back into the contest following the interval.
Beale said: “It’s really disappointing to lose the game and you’ve got a really disappointing dressing room in there.
“The lads have given everything and the result wasn’t for the want of trying. The key moments didn’t go for us and it went for them.
“We conceded two goals in the first 45 and the one just before the break was clearly a big blow for us.
“Saying that, I felt as though we had enough to go on in the second-half and get back in the game but sadly it wasn’t to be.
“We were a little bit short of where we know we could have been in the first-half. In the second period, we were trying to score a goal without ever really creating enough clear chances.
“We hit the post. We hit the bar. We’ve blazed a couple over the bar too.
“It was frustrating that we weren’t able to test their keeper. Everything we’ve worked on is about being positive.
“We’ve given the ball away for both goals. The goals have come out of nothing if we’re being honest. We haven’t been carved open or anything like that.
“I’m sad that the lads weren’t able to put on a show for the fans tonight.”
