Albion Women forward Simran Jhamat says she’s hoping to ‘showcase her skills’ in the FA Cup following Sunday’s second round win over Needham Market.
The Baggies secured their passage into the third round with a 3-0 victory at Ray Hall Lane, with a brace from Mariam Mahmood and a Jhamat strike clinching the win.
She said: “It’s always good to come away with a goal, I’m a striker, so that’s always good. I’m on nine now for the season so I’m delighted to be on that total.
“I want us to progress in the cup, that’s something we all want to do, let’s just keep going, it’s a big opportunity so let’s keep going onwards and upwards. We know there are big teams in it so there’s a chance to showcase those skills and that’s something I hope I can do with my goals like today.”
Jhamat’s showing was aided by the substitute impact of Mahmood, who came off the bench to score twice and set up the second Albion goal and the forward believes she made the difference in today’s game.
“I feel Maz did very well, she’s a young kid, she came off the bench and made the difference. She did so well and got her goals, she’s a big talent so I’m very happy for her today."
