Albion Women head coach Siobhan Hodgetts-Still believes her side 'showed their class' in their stunning 8-2 FA Cup victory over Lye Town on Sunday afternoon.
The Baggies had to battle from behind twice in the cup clash, and saw seven different players get onto the scoresheet thanks to a superb second half showing to secure a place in the second round.
She said: “First half the early goal unsettled us a little bit, they made it hard by playing a high line, we just needed to time our runs and the final ball needed to be better.
"They obviously came out and made it 2-1 in the second half, but that time we just settled, played the football we know we can play, and we just began to relax and settle on the ball.
"Our runs in behind were better and in the end our class showed in the second half from every player. We didn’t panic, we started to relax and move the ball and the space opened up for us."
The result was the side's biggest win so far this campaign, and also halted a winless run which had stretched to three games, and Hodgetts-Still believes the victory is a result of the quality of football the squad has played, without necessarily earning victories.
"We’re under no illusion that we haven’t scored enough goals and haven’t won enough games in the last few weeks but we’ve played good football", she said.
"We’ve played some really good stuff in recent fixtures, we just haven’t taken our chances - but that’s football, this time though especially in the second half we did a great job of taking our chances when they came to us."
"Some of the football we played was brilliant and it could have been double figures after what proved to be a really tricky first half."
